Livin' La Vida Essex

Livin' La Vida Essex.

Livin’ La Vida Essex

I’ve lived in Essex pretty much all my life; excluding the nine years that I lived in Chingford (which is technically classed as East London).

By definition I suppose you could call me an ‘Essex Boy’ aside from a few minor differences.

  • I don’t have a luminous orange spray-tan.
  • I don’t visit any tanning salons to get my colour (it’s all natural, baby).
  • I don’t frequent the various Lounge Bars that appear to have all popped up over the last few years.
  • I don’t consider myself to be ‘Reem.’ I don’t even know If I’m using that correctly.

When you put all of that aside, I still enjoy living in Essex. It’s my home, after all.

I’ve recently taken on a role as the Social Media Director for a new Essex based publication. Something I’m super excited about doing. I mean, it is what I do.

I’ve never really embraced Essex as my home properly before. Only over the last year or so have I really…accepted…where I live.

The majority of the people are nowhere near as bad as that ‘Reality’ TV show portrays them to be. OK, some of them are; but, for the most part they’re pretty decent folk.

There are some really nice places to grab a bite to eat and, some really beautiful places to just sit and take in the view.

All in all, I suppose it’s not a bad place to live.

“Home is where the heart is” and all that.
